I saw my best friend for the first time today

She had brown hair that reached her shoulders and piercing blue eyes

There were cuts on her arm and on her stomach
There were bags under her eyes from nights spent crying

She had thrown her bottle of pills against the wall from expressing her hatred of being dependent on them

What I saw was not lovely
What I saw was not beautiful

So to all of you who use mental illness as a fashion statement
Expressing your scars as “accessories to your bracelets”

I only have so many questions to ask
What is so beautiful about mental illness?

What’s so beautiful about crying and screaming and tormented souls?
What’s so beautiful about young kids being sent to mental hospitals more times than the average adult?

Is the sadness and the inability to do anything captivating to you?

Because what I saw today was not beautiful

I saw my best friend for the first time today

She was staring back at me in the mirror

⌈Incredibly brilliant, gifted non-professional Make-Up-Artist from Finland who is admired by many not only in Finland but also world wide. Even though she gives away a laid back impression to those who read her blog and follow her Facebook-page, secretly she’s a bit shy and silent when it comes to new acquaintances, which naturally reflects Finnish basic personality. However, she’s easy to come along with; she’s very easily approachable and has a witty sense of humor — her personality is as stunning as her appearance.

Tanja encourages people to be themselves, what they want to be, how they want to look like. I know couple people who look up to her and to whom her encouragement has made an impact —and made their life better after the change.

After being able to meet her in person (according to Roseshock we were the rare few ones she agreed to meet) along with two of my closest friends, I managed to see and hear myself and from these two friends of mine afterwards how comfortable and respectable person she is in real life even though she might not notice this herself. A role model for the whole world yet to be discovered~

sometimes I feel really shitty but then I read this ♥
